Senior Citizen Services

Our elders are often the most in need of support, and yet, they are so often forgotten. DFIC has paid attention and created a program specifically to target the needs of the elderly community in Regina.

These services include:

  • “compassionate calls” which aim to check in on the senior citizens and give them someone they can talk to.
  • A program called “Mubobbi Adda”. It is a gathering of both elders and youth. This gathering allows the elders to engage with the community while also passing on their wisdom to the youth. At Mubobbi Adda, there is often food and refreshments, leading to a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Many elders have mobility issues, disallowing them from coming to the Masjid. To address this, DFIC has a pick and drop service for senior citizens to attend Jummah prayer.

If you know any Elders/Murubbi who need this service, please click on the register now button.

Our elders hold a wealth of wisdom and experience, yet they are often among the most overlooked in our communities. At DFIC, we recognize their invaluable contributions and have developed a dedicated program to support the unique needs of the elderly community in Regina.

These services include:

At DFIC, we offer a range of services designed to uplift and care for our senior community members:

  • Compassionate Calls: Regular check-in calls to offer conversation, support, and a listening ear for our elders, helping them feel connected and valued.

  • Mubobbi Adda: A special gathering that brings together elders and youth, creating a space for connection, storytelling, and wisdom-sharing across generations. With food, refreshments, and warm conversation, Mubobbi Adda fosters a welcoming and lively environment for all.

  • Pick and Drop Service for Jummah: Understanding that mobility can be a challenge, DFIC offers transportation services for elders to attend Jummah prayers and stay engaged with the community.
