Fine Option Program

An approved community-service placement site where eligible individuals can work off provincial fines through meaningful volunteer hours.

What is the Fine Option Program?

Saskatchewan's Fine Option Program allows people to discharge eligible fines by completing supervised community-service work instead of paying cash. As a participating community organization, DFIC provides a welcoming, structured environment where participants can complete their assigned hours with dignity.

What participants do

Placements may include kitchen help during events, facility cleaning and upkeep, event setup, grounds care, and other supportive tasks. Our coordinators track and verify hours and complete the required documentation.

How to get started

Eligibility and referrals are handled through the provincial Fine Option Program. If you have been referred and would like to complete your hours with us, contact our office to arrange an orientation.
