Islamic Will & Testament

Prepare a wasiyyah that honours both the Shari'ah and Canadian law — a final act of responsibility toward your loved ones.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to bequeath to stay for two nights without having his will written down.”

— Sahih al-Bukhari

Why an Islamic Will Matters

Writing a will (wasiyyah) is a strongly emphasized act in Islam. It ensures your estate is distributed according to the Qur'anic shares (mirath), allows you to appoint guardians for your children, settle debts, and leave a bequest of up to one-third for charity or non-heirs. Without a valid will, your estate in Canada is distributed under provincial intestacy rules — which may not align with the Shari'ah.

  • Distribution of fixed shares to heirs per the Shari'ah
  • An optional bequest (up to one-third) for charity or non-heirs
  • Funeral and burial wishes in accordance with the Sunnah
